ATA-ATA bridge
There exist several chips which translate AT Attachment signals to and from ATA Parallel and Serial transports. When observing behaviour of ATA-ATA bridge chips, pay close attention to IDENTIFY DEVICE words 75, 76, 93, 236-254, 255; for I have observed all of these modified by one bridge or another.
