Category:Extended-protected redirects

The pages in this category are redirects from pages that are extended-confirmed protected (or extended-protected) from editing for any of several possible reasons. When the Rcat shell template is used, this category will be populated automatically. To add a redirect to this category, put {{Rcat shell|(any appropriate rcats)}} after the redirect but on the same line. Do not substitute redirect templates. This is an administration category. It is used for administration of the WikiDevi project and is not part of the encyclopedia. It contains pages that are not articles, or it groups articles by status rather than content. Do not include this category in content categories. This is a hidden category. It is not shown on its member pages, unless the corresponding user preference 'Show hidden categories' is set. This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. Pages are added to tracking categories through templates.

This category contains redirects which have been Extended-confirmed protected. This level of protection is to be applied in topic areas authorized by the Arbitration Committee or as a result of community consensus. Pages with this level of protection can be edited only by editors with the extended confirmed user access level, granted automatically to editors with 30 days tenure and 500 edits.

Protection at this level is usually done as a last resort to prevent persistent sockpuppetry, edit warring, or in cases where semi-protection has proven to be ineffective.

Populating this category does not in itself protect the page. Actual page protection is engaged by administrators.
