- Sold by Dell as the TrueMobile 1170.
Device uses a Intel StrongARM SA-110 (part number 21281EB),
- Intel 21285AB, TI PCI bus PCI1225PDV for the PC Card
- controller, and NS DP83815CVNG for the ethernet controller.
The AP-2000 (with Lucent/Agere/Proxim's firmware)
- can function as a 802.11b access point using:
- an ORiNOCO PC Card or ORiNOCO PC Card (Ruby),
- an 802.11bg access point using a Proxim 8800-FC, and
- an 802.11a access point using an Agere PC50E-8-FC/A.
Some AP2ks have native PoE capability - for example, the Agere ORiNOCO AP-2000 AE.
- This specific one, as shown in the photos, specifically does not appear to.
The non-PoE capable AP-2ks could use optional POE splitters, which were
- frequently used with a proprietary PowerDsine 48V system.
