Guidelines
What are the guidelines in adding to this wiki? Just devices? The load is getting taxing on my home server for my wiki and was thinking of merging it here. Alot of it has to do with routers and third party firmware with a few odds and ends of other things. http://www.TechInfoDepot.info is the current home.

product image errors in Linksys EA4500 & EA4500 v3 pages
the image on the EA4500 page links to Amazon EA4500. There are also links given for that same image and to one on a Camel Camel Camel page. All images depict routers with a Linksys LED logo.
the image on the EA4500_v3 page doesn't display properly in IE, and is absent in Firefox, and appears to link to Amazon EA4500v3. There are also links given for that same image and to one on a Camel Camel Camel page. All links depict routers with a Cisco LED logo.
according to this Linksys page the EA4500 has a Cisco LED logo whereas the EA4500v3 has a Linksys LED logo.
I have a Linksys EA4500 router and it conforms to what is specified in the Linksys table (ie, my router has a Cisco LED), so it appears that these wikidev pages are linking to the wrong images. I suggest that the image links on the respective pages be swapped.
I'm relatively new to wiki editing and, as yet, cannot figure out how to modify/fix these pages. will someone do so?
plus, after saving this edit I don't see my username displayed nor a timestamp like previous users have on their edits.

Form edit always fails
The "Edit with form" link for any page I've edited (mostly wired/wireless embedded) always fails (returns you to the form with the opaque message "Modifying [name of page] failed" at the top) for me. Perhaps the forms need to include the captcha?

Belkin F5U014-OE Hub Chipset
Don't know the proper syntax for doing this, really -- but -- could someone edit the page for this hub,
- to reflect that the chipset is a Genesys Logic GL650USB? I'd do it myself, but I honestly don't know how...
Source for the info on that hub is that I have one and I opened it up to see what was inside.
(Shameless-but-honest flattery ahead.) I love you guys and your work.
- No, really -- the info here is utterly invaluable and priceless for me and a number of other folks who use Puppy Linux.
- We, er, have to manually select network drivers sometimes, and without a central database of chipset/driver info
- (hint: this wiki) we'd be totally lost at sea. This wiki makes a good portion of our tech support actually function.
Thanks for being here and keeping this thing going!

Special:ViewXML
Wireless embedded system" function not working (probably due to excessive file size)
Select checkbox: Wireless embedded system. Then click View XML button, Browser attemps to download this URL:
Page Returns following Error: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error
Aparently there seems to be an error in the server XML file parsing due to category grown too large
- in size over time, currently theres no alternate way to retrieve this field for analisis.
Maybe split in half and download 2 files?, increase server parse time? offer a once
- a day parse file download link not generated real time?
Update SSL certificate
The current certificate sent when connecting using HTTPS contains a revoked certificate in the chain.
- The chain that is sent is:
- AddTrust External CA Root
- UTN - DATACorp SGC
- COMODO Certification Authority
- EssentialSSL CA
- wikidevi.com
- EssentialSSL CA
- COMODO Certification Authority
- UTN - DATACorp SGC
The certificate for "UTN - DATACorp SGC" has been revoked last month so the chain is not valid anymore.
- Fortunately, most browsers have added the certificate for "COMODO Certification Authority" as a trusted CA root,
- so they stop the chain verification at this certificate which explains why the site still works for most users.
- But for browsers that don't accept "COMODO Certification Authority" as a trusted certificate, the website does
- not load as the browser complains this certificate has been revoked.
Please fix this by rebuilding the certificate sent by the web server with the updated version for the "COMODO
- Certification Authority" certificate (you can download it here, if your certificate tools do not use it already).

Problem with the user sign up process / email confirmation
The first email confirmation i get during sign up, when you click the link, it tells you that the code is expired, however if you resend one through the user preferences, the second link works. May be an issue from upgrading mediawiki.
- I experienced the same thing, except I was told my confirmation code was invalid. The code I received after resending from the settings page worked.

ALTAI WA1011N-GU windows 10 problem
This USB device drivers given on the wiki are not recognized by the system.
Samsung WIDT10B driver problem
Samsung WIDT10B - Broadcom BCM43236
This USB device drivers given on the wiki are not recognized by the system.
During driver installation (via device manager) Windows does not find drivers in the given directory.
Image metadata
Image metadata not properly displayed on images that were renamed by the wiki.
Metadata is not displayed properly (The comments section gets littered with non ascii characters) on images that had spaces replaced by underscores automatically in the "Destination filename", this problem does not occur when the file name is accepted without modifications.
This image is an example of this: https://wikidevi.com/wiki/File:ZTE_ZXV10_W300E_Board_Front.jpeg
But if the underscores are added manually, metadata is displayed correctly as in this image: https://wikidevi.com/wiki/File:ZTE_ZXV10_W300E_Board_Back.jpeg
Compound devices in a product
Hi Chief! How do you recommend making entries for products, which contain two or more devices? The most common materialisations are likely PCI and USB devices. I have entered Kanex DualRole USB3GBIT3X using two templates.
I found your entry Targus ACH121US (same OEM), which uses subobject:USB_hub.
Certificate warning on Chrome browser
Just a heads-up: using Chrome 42 on Android, wikidevi site appears with an orange https lock (instead of green), with a warning: "This site is using a weak security configuration (SHA-1 signatures), so your connection may not be private." Google has stated that the warning(s) are going to get increasingly worse in next Chrome versions... [2]
Missing linux kernel version message (2)
Qualcomm_Atheros_Killer_Wireless-AC_1525 is supposed to show "PCI ID first seen in kernel (...etc)" but doesn't show any message, not even "PCI ID not yet observed in any mainline kernel / this list".
Since the message is appearing correctly in: Qualcomm_Atheros_Killer_NIC_1420, I thought maybe the problem is because the interface is defined as "NGFF". but apparently the linux kernel message is displayed correctly in this NGFF card: Intel_Dual_Band_Wireless-AC_7265_(7265NGW), so the cause of this problem may be something else... I think I've seen this problem on some other page too, it's rare. Any ideas?
- Good catch. So it seems linux driver is defined per-chip, not per-adapter, and lin_driver should be left empty. I updated the driver at Template:Wireless adapter/linux driver, so now it shows "ath10k" instead of "unknown". There are probably other adapters with this mistake.

Additional chips don't work in the template
I created the article "D-Link_DIR-320_rev_A2" and fill all possible fields in the template. The field "Additional chips" (the parameter "addl_chips") described as:
- format is [function;chip brand;chip model;chip full p/n or null;number of chips;
- Process tags (Substrate, XX nm, etc [CSV];Chip package tags;Chip package size;]
- ,,, is the delimiter for additional, don't add the brackets
I wrote string
2.4 GHz Power Wireless LAN Power Amplifier With Power Detector;Skyworks;SE2528L;;1;;;;
but this string viewed as is.
This is normal?

Help needed to create proper form for Category: Portable personal computer
Hi, i started to gather information for different notebooks (for example ASUS_Zenbook_Prime_UX31A-R4005V), can you please help to create a proper form for this category? --Fishor (talk) 10:48, 30 May 2016 (EDT)
- Hi Omega, thank you for updates. Probably you didn't finished the changes. If yes, some more fields needed: Display params (size, resolution, type); RAM (extandable or not, i can even provide actualy chip IDs); Storage instead of Flash (Connection type SATA, M.2, eMMC non stanadart ASUS... etc; storage type SSD, HDD; some ASUS ultrabooks have two storage devices: on board 32GB SSD and replaceable 2,5 Inch SSD); card reader controller Vendor/Chip and supported SD/MMC standards; BIOS (Vendor: Pheonix; version date; sometimes preinstalled BIOS version is higer then available update)... and thank you for help :D --Fishor (talk) 02:37, 31 May 2016 (EDT)
Drivers for UWA-BR100 don't work
Hi, thank you for this site, it is very helpful. Although I'm trying to let my computer detect my uwa-br100 but it continues to don't recognize it, in fact the usb adapter is listed as 'other devices' with the name of CEWL 1. I tried different drivers but they still don't work.
